Teachers had created maths knowledge organisers for Year 1 and learning logs to revise, which were sent home. This had focused the learning.
Working walls were used for words which they can find easily. Now and next boards were used for SEND to help not overstimulate.
Teachers were ‘cutting out’ small talk and repeating learning intentions and instructions instead. Children are better able to understand what is expected.
One teacher gave children time to watch silent modelling which helped their focus – children can verbalise mentally as they are watching.
