Feedback from Day 3
On Day 3, the teams were asked to reflect on the impact of the project:
- Huge impact on self esteem
- A learning ethos
- Children are more engaged
- Teacher confidence in planning
- More flexibility to use our professional judgement
- Effective talk and quality discussions

- Less teacher talk
- Growth mindset
- Positive praise instead of rewards

- Identification of excellence and how to achieve it
- Reduced marking workload as children more involved
- Increased enjoyment for all
- Higher quality feedback
- Children are checking and improving their own work
- They know what to do to improve
- No more ability grouping
- Improved social skills
- More reflective teaching
- More independent thinking and learning
- We are challenging children further
- More flexibility and letting go
- Increased pace and progress within a lesson
- Children have more opportunity to work with a range of children and achievement levels
- Effective use of mid lesson learning stops
- Use of success criteria for skills has raised quality
- Children are empowered to learn
- Children can now contribute in planning
- Children more willing to have a go
- Children are lifelong learners – their skills are embedded for life
- We got outstanding teaching and learning from OFSTED
It has brought my lessons alive. The children are excited to find out what our new topic will be and they think we don’t do work any more but instead have fun. I have learned not to be constrained by rules or stick to time limits but to take risks and do what my heart feels is right.
