As schools struggle with reduced budgets, prices for these sessions have been significantly reduced for 2025.

Twilight Sessions

Each Twilight session is 90-minutes at a cost of £500. Choose all four sessions or any combination.

Shirley provides live input with video examples. Choose from the following topics:

1. Building a learning culture for high pupil self-efficacy (the belief in your ability to achieve)
   • Barriers to self-efficacy and some solutions
   • Developing a learning culture and learning language
2. Effective talk and questioning
   • Evidence for and organisation of random learning partners and trios
   • On-the-move questioning
   • Ongoing questioning
   • Prior knowledge questioning
3. Knowledge, skills, learning intentions and co-constructed success criteria
   • Curriculum design from subject to retrieval
   • Learning intentions and success criteria
   • Efficient co-construction strategies
   • Ongoing assessment throughout the curriculum
4. Feedback
   • Easing the cognitive load
   • The power of in-lesson feedback: on the move, mid-lesson learning stops, cooperative peer feedback, peer coaching
   • Post-lesson feedback: efficient strategies for marking

Half-day Session presented ‘live’ by Shirley Clarke

3 hours including a 15 minute break £1,000

Shirley speaks to your staff in a live session, with video examples, giving an abbreviated version of her full one-day course ‘The Power of Formative Assessment.’

There are exciting video clips of Formative Assessment in action throughout across the phases.

Formative Assessment 2025

Elements included are:

• The evidence for formative assessment
• Building pupil self-efficacy – the key to successful learning
• Effective talk
• Learning intentions and co-constructed success criteria focusing on efficiency and manageability
• Feedback: in-lesson and post lesson
• Curriculum design from subject to retrieval practice.

Short reflection times are included.

Conditions

Prior to the first session, a brief technical rehearsal will be arranged with you via Zoom or Teams to check the invitation link plus the audio and video feed.

Please email your links for each session to: office@shirleyclarke-education.org. It is advised that your Tech Coordinator and Headteacher and/or Assessment Coordinator participate.

Handouts for each session booked will be emailed to you via We Transfer. The download link expires in three days of receipt.
