Walking round meant teachers were seeing more children making mistakes than before and misconceptions were identified. Stopping to help and having mini plenaries helped all children. Sharing good examples also inspired the class.
Marking is reduced.
Fewer children are opting out of work.
Addressing children privately reduces their anxiety. They know they can ask you quietly as you are walking around rather than putting their hand up. Children know they will be helped and reassured.
