
Formative Assessment
Formative Assessment is the proven, single most important thing we can do in schools to raise attainment and develop high student self-efficacy.
Teachers are asked to trial the following:
Day 2 content:
- Raising children’s self-efficacy by normalizing error, making praise task not ego related,
- removing all comparative rewards and having mixed ability.
- Having weekly changing random talk partners or trios to give a range of both learning and
- social experiences.
- Introducing key factual and concept questions pre and post units across the curriculum.
- Having clear learning intentions and transferrable co-constructed success criteria for skills, analyzing and comparing good and bad examples.
Day 3 content:
- Easing the cognitive load by a number of given strategies.
- On the move feedback and marking.
- Prior knowledge questioning.
- Mid lesson learning stops and cooperative feedback.
- Impact of the project
