2023 Age 4-6: Rec/Y1 Feedback from Day 3 (2023)

Taunton

All teachers constantly checked children’s knowledge with the use of ‘I wonder….’. This gives children the confidence to share their knowledge.

One child was showing an interest in trains and how they connect to each other. The adult talked about magnets and gravity and the child went on to share this knowledge with the parents.

Teachers had found that using task related praise rather than ego related praise had led to children being more likely to tackle challenging tasks and become more intrinsically motivated.

Post lesson feedback had clarified understanding.

In Forest School, half the group feeds back to the others, giving adults a chance to know that they have learnt from the lesson.
